Growing up in my household, I knew that my parents took pride in providing, protecting, and preparing for my siblings and I. We watched how they sacrificed some of the things they loved to do just so we could be blessed. In return, we wanted to make sure that our words and our actions put a smile on their faces. While we did not always make the best choices, we knew how much they were willing to give us. We made it a point that we would represent them wherever we went.
God has given so much to us whether we want to acknowledge it or not. He has given us more than we deserve. He sacrificed His only Son so that we would receive the gift of salvation that grants us access to external life with Him. It is our duty as believers to be the best example of a Child of God should look like, act like, think like, and talk like. Our words are a reaction to what is in our minds. As our minds stay focused on God, our language and our deeds will follow accordingly. Our goal as Christians is to make sure that we are constantly putting a smile on God's face. So how do we do this....when is the last time you prayed for someone? When is the last time you shared your story about the goodness of God to a non believer? Are your actions something God would be proud of? Can God call on you to speak on His behalf? We all have work to do to make things right in His sight. Do what you need to do and put a smile on God's face.
Prayer: God, each day I wake up wanting to please you. I know there are times I will do things that can really disappoint you. I am so sorry, but I am so thankful that you give me chance after chance to make things right. Show me what I need to do to put a smile on your face. Teach me what I need to say to make your heart dance. Amen.
